It is placed in the ninth region of Araucania, on the
top of the Nahuelbuta mountain, being one of the last
reserves where |
Araucaria prevails, coniferous endemic
of the coast cordillera and the Chilean Andes where it is got
the fruit called Pehuen, which was the main food of the Pehuenche
people in the Andes and the Mapuches who lived in these coastal
summits, some of these trees reach 1.500 years old, besides
from Araucaria, the flora of the park constituted by trees like
Coigues, Robles, Raulíes and Lengas, as well as various
orchids of different colors, apart from two of the three insectivorous
plants existing in Chile, which are inside the Turberas of the
Park, the fauna on the other side, counts with species such
as Pudu, the Chilote fox and Puma, and among the birds, the
Black Carpenter, Churrin and Chucao stand out.
We offer you two alternatives to know the Nahuelbuta National
Park:
The first program offers a straight trip from Angol city
to the Park for the day, which includes a series of trekkings
that bring us to (Piedra del Aguila) the Stone of the Eagle,
Casa de Piedra (House of Stone) and the view point of Anay
hill, finishing our visit in Angol city.
The second program, besides the park
visit, offers a complete tourist circuit through the zone,
that additionally includes a camping inside the Park, crossing
the next day through Nahuelbuta Mountain way to places like:
Cañete, Contulmo, Puren, Capitán Pastene, los
Sauces, ending our track in Angol city.
